Planned Giving

Regardless of your age or estate size, there are gift arrangements which allow you to balance your income needs, the needs of your family, and your philanthropic interests.  Through a bequest, charitable gift annuity, deferred Charitable Gift annuity, you and your family can leave a legacy, receive life income, pass assets to your heirs.

Contact Jessica Cox (jcox@treasuredlands.org), director of development, to discuss ways to support Treasured Lands and protect the land you love.

Gifts of Stock

Gifts of securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds are especially advantageous if you hold a security such as stock that has increased in value since you acquired it. By making a gift of stock held longer than one year, you completely avoid paying capital gains tax. In addition, you would receive an income tax deduction for the current market value of the gift. You may deduct gifts totaling up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income in any year, with a five-year carry-over for any excess.

Electronic Transfer

If you hold stocks or bonds in street name with a broker, you may transfer the securities electronically by instructing your broker to send the securities to our account. Please contact Jessica Cox (jcox@treasuredlands.org), director of development, for transfer instructions.

In order to facilitate the transfer and acknowledgment of your stock gift, please notify us of your name, the name of the stock and the number of shares being donated before you transfer the stocks. Of course, we will respect the wishes of donors who prefer not to have their name publicly disclosed.

Workplace Giving

Double your impact! Did you know that some employers match, double or even triple employee contributions? You can increase the value of your gift by returning your company’s matching gift form with your contribution. Ask your employer about matching your gift to Treasured Lands Foundation.

Honorariums

Make a gift in the name in honor of one you love who has passed away or celebrating a special occasion like a birthday, wedding or graduation by making a much needed gift to Treasured Lands.
